Amy Lou Adams, full name Amy Lou Adams (born 20 August 1974 in Aviano Italy), American actress. Her fame is for portraying naive characters that are adorable and enjoyable. Adams was the daughter of a U.S. Army officer in Italy and then grew up to be a resident of Castle Rock Colorado. The mid-1990s saw her begin acting and dancing professionally with Boulder's Dinner Theatre and the Country Dinner Playhouse in Colorado. In the following year, in Minnesota and at a local theater, she was cast as a character in a mock film documentary on beauty contests called Drop Dead Gorgeous. Following her successful screen debut where she played an annoying but pleasant contestant, Janet moved to Los Angeles where she began an acting career professionally. She was the wife of the actor Tony Curtis from June 1951 to September 1962 and she was the mom of Kelly Curtis and Jamie Lee Curtis. Leigh was discovered by actress Norma Shearer and signed a contract to be a part of MGM in the late 1940s. Leigh was a star in a variety of films that became popular over the following decade, such as Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (from the year 1960) as well as Living It Up (1954), starring Martin Lewis.
